An exam for the right to wear a maroon beret was also invented there.<br><br>In the early 90s, when the situation in the country was rapidly changing, 3 more special forces detachments were created – „Rosich“, „Rus“ and „Skif“. In addition, as part of operational units (in fact, motorized rifle units) there were special forces (GOS). Thus, the 22nd brigade (Kalach-na-Donu) included the Alligator seeker, the 34th brigade (Shumilovo) included the Werewolf seeker. Each company had 3 platoons – the 1st and 2nd spetsnaz platoons were trained for assault missions, while the 3rd platoon was prepared for reconnaissance missions.<br><br>In June 1995, the Rus special task force took part in the hostage rescue operation in Budennovsk. Six months later, in January 1996, the Vityaz and Rus special-purpose detachments, together with a special-purpose group of the 1st special-purpose regiment, took part in an operation to storm the village of Pervomayskoye, which was captured by a group of militants of Salman Raduev.<br><br>After the end of the first Chechen campaign, the formation of new special forces units began. They were created at the expense of the number of special-purpose groups liquidated in brigades and regiments. So, the 15th special forces detachment „Vyatich“ was created on the basis of 3 special-purpose groups. The 20th special forces detachment (Saratov) arose on the basis of the Werewolf special purpose group, which was withdrawn from the 34th brigade.<br><br>On October 24, 2014, a ceremony was held in Simferopol dedicated to the assignment of the name „Rus“ to the 35th reconnaissance detachment of the North Caucasus Regional Command of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.<br>
